Foundational is partnering with Julien Le Dem, creator of OpenLineage, as our newest advisor. Julien’s invaluable experience in data lineage will further establish Foundational’s position at the forefront of data lineage expertise.

Foundational is excited to announce our newest addition: Support for Power BI, Microsoft’s business intelligence platform. This integration enables Foundational customers using Power BI to:Track column-level lineage that feeds any report, dashboard, tile, and any other object in Power BI. Our coverage extends well beyond the data warehouse and goes into operational databases, CRMs and other upstream sources of data.

Foundational now supports native data quality automation for Snowflake, leveraging the Snowflake’s preview release of Data Metric Functions (DMF) feature to automate testing and data quality validation. The new capability is also allowing Snowflake users to automate data contract enforcement for Snowflake data, using Foundational’s code analysis capabilities.

We are announcing two new frameworks that are now officially supported by Foundational: Liquibase and Active Record. This release allows our customers to track upstream changes across dozens of database types, and understand the downstream impact that changes in schemas in these databases have on data, and prevent breaking changes and semantic issues before the code is deployed.

Understanding ORMs is of key importance for data teams since in a lot of cases, this is the primary area from which breaking schema changes. One of the most common ORM frameworks is SqlAlchemy, built for Python. Foundational is announcing our integration with SQLAlchemy, allowing data organizations to get visibility, manage data contracts, and prevent breaking schema changes coming from the ORM layer and operational databases.

Today, we're excited to announce our latest addition: Foundational now offers comprehensive support for Tableau, one of the most popular business intelligence platforms. This integration enables organizations using Tableau to get Pre-Merge analysis for every pull request affecting Tableau, as well as automated, code-based column-level lineage for every dashboard and report.
